Launching abilsudarman.my.id: An Open-Source Fact-Check Site, Built by Hand, Not on Wix

On 4 October 2026 I launched abilsudarman.my.id, "Kawal Abil Sudarman," a public site that collects claims about Abil Sudarman, translated articles and their verification status. The site states that it records my opinion and is not a verdict, and that Mr. Sudarman has a right of reply to every entry. This post describes the launch and how the site was built. It is not a finding about anyone.

What launched

The site is called Operasi Ababil. The name comes from the ababil birds, which in the story carried small stones one at a time. The idea is the same: collect evidence and translated articles in the open, one item at a time.

Its main parts are:

  • Claims under review. A list of claims about Mr. Sudarman that were published or quoted, each with a verification status. The site says that "no confirmation yet" does not mean a claim is false.
  • Translated articles. Articles about him, translated so that more people can read them.
  • Right of reply and disclaimer pages. Both are linked from the main navigation.
  • A theme-song player. It loads the third-party Spotify player only after a visitor presses play, and it does not require a Spotify login.

The site is in Indonesian. Visit it at abilsudarman.my.id.

How it is built

The code is public at github.com/rweebs/abilsudarman. It is a static Astro site with React islands, Three.js for the hero artwork, and Framer Motion for the reveal and tilt effects. It is served through Cloudflare. The commit history shows the work: scaffold with design tokens, a hash-based Content Security Policy with no inline styles, an SEO pass (titles, descriptions, schema, breadcrumbs), and tests.

Wappalyzer, run on the live site, detects Astro, React, Framer Motion, Three.js, Cloudflare, HTTP/3 and Open Graph.

PageSpeed results

I ran Google PageSpeed Insights on the home page on 5 October 2026 at 12:40 AM. Both the mobile and desktop reports gave 100 for Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO, and 2/2 for Agentic Browsing. These are lab results from one run, and the report notes that scores are estimated and may vary. Google had no real-user field data for the site yet.

A comparison I think is fair

My earlier investigative report states that abilsudarman.com, the personal site Mr. Sudarman uses to promote himself as a "vibe code expert," is a Wix-built site. That report cites Wappalyzer and domain and IP records as its evidence. Both screenshots below are reused from that report.

IP lookup for abilsudarman.com: IP 185.230.63.171, Ashburn, Virginia, ISP Wix.com Ltd. (from the earlier report)

An IP lookup shows who hosts a site, not who built it, and Wappalyzer reads a site's technology signatures. Together they support the statement that the site runs on Wix, nothing more.

I am not saying that using Wix is wrong. It is a normal choice for many people. The comparison is narrower: a claim of deep engineering skill and the tools behind the site that carries the claim can be checked against each other. The same check applies to my own work, which is why the code for this site is public, so you can inspect it, test it and tell me where it falls short.

Limits of this post

  • The Wix finding comes from my earlier report. I have not re-verified it for this post, and it may have changed since.
  • PageSpeed scores come from a single lab run and can vary.
  • The claims on the site are listed as "under review." None of them is a finding that Mr. Sudarman did anything unlawful.
  • If Mr. Sudarman wants to correct or reply to anything on the site or in this post, I will publish his reply in full alongside it.
  • This is my opinion and my account. I am not a lawyer, and this post is not legal advice.
