Marchel Andrian Shevchenko and Data Sorcerers: Impact and Partner Claims, and What Can Be Verified

The speaker at a Telkom-branded event on 8 November 2026 promotes large numbers and well-known partners. This article lists each claim, what would be needed to check it, and what I found.
This is a record of public claims, not an accusation. Nothing here shows that any claim is false.
Scope and identity note
- Subject: Marchel Andrian Shevchenko, "Founder of Data Sorcerers" on the event poster.
- Sources: screenshots I took of his public LinkedIn and of the Data Sorcerers website around 29 August 2026. They are not forensically authenticated, and pages change.
- Credential claims are covered separately in claims vs. public records, and in the earlier AEGIS assessment.
The claims
| Claim | Where | What would verify it |
|---|---|---|
| 4,600+ bachelor students, 320+ high-school students, 14+ master/PhD students, 20+ professionals | Data Sorcerers "Impact" page | Attendance records, programme lists, or an independent audit |
| 600,000+ users of the Arutala product | LinkedIn "About" | Analytics export or app-store data |
| MIT among "Campus Partners" | Data Sorcerers site | Written confirmation from MIT that a partnership exists |
| Internship as AI Engineer at PT Kalbe Farma Tbk. | LinkedIn experience | Confirmation from the employer |

What I found, and what I did not
- I found the claims above on the public pages. I did not find an audit, a published attendance record, or an independent source that confirms them.
- That is the absence of what I found, not evidence of absence. These numbers could be accurate and simply unpublished.
- A logo on a "partners" page can mean many things, from a signed agreement to an event attended by a staff member. Only the institution can say which.
- I searched the national company registry by name for "Data Sorcerers Indonesia" and saw "not found". That search was by name only, from a phone, after a captcha error. It is indicative at most. A formal request to the registry would settle whether a company exists and under what name.
Why I list claims at all
An event organiser who prints "Founder of Data Sorcerers" next to a corporate logo is relying on these numbers and partners, even if the poster does not repeat them. A short table of claims and checks is cheap to produce and easy to answer.
Where I may be wrong
- I may have missed a public audit or press confirmation.
- Figures like "users" and "students reached" are defined differently by different organisations. A number can be honest and still not comparable.
- A partner page may be accurate to the speaker's own understanding of the relationship.
Right of reply and correction policy
Marchel Andrian Shevchenko and Data Sorcerers are invited to send documents, a response or a correction, for example attendance records or written partner confirmations. A substantive response may be published alongside this article, subject to reasonable editing for privacy, safety and relevance. If reliable evidence shows that any factual statement here is wrong, I will correct it and note the change.
