Rahmat Fabhian Aminuddin, AWS Malaysia Solutions Architect: What I Allege and What I Can Show

Header illustration: record on Rahmat Fabhian Aminuddin, aws malaysia, solutions architect

Rahmat Fabhian Aminuddin is one of eight people I listed in my AWS "professional blacklist" essay. This post gives him his own page, so that what I allege is kept apart from what I can show.

This article does not claim that Rahmat Fabhian Aminuddin harassed anyone, committed misconduct or committed academic fraud. It records allegations I have made, labels them as mine, and says what is and is not shown.

This is my account and my opinion. It is not a finding by any court, regulator or employer. The full list is in the original essay.

Scope and identity note

  • Who: the person whose public LinkedIn card reads "Rahmat Fabhian Aminuddin", Kuala Lumpur, with AWS and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) listed. My formal legal notice describes him as a Solutions Architect at AWS Malaysia, formerly AWS Indonesia.
  • Sources: one logged-out LinkedIn screenshot, my own email of 27 September 2023, and my own legal notice. None is independently authenticated.
  • Relationship: we overlapped at AWS in 2023. I have not worked with him since.

What I observed

  1. In the hub essay I wrote that he is "the man many allegations of missconduct, harassment against me and taiwanese nationalty, allegations of fraudulant in his undergraduate thesis". These are my allegations. The essay shows no document for any of them.
  2. On 27 September 2023 I emailed an AWS Indonesia HR partner after a thread about me went viral (I wrote about 2.6 million views). I wrote that I suspected him, because people connected to him at my university talked badly about me. The email says "I suspect". It shows no proof.
  3. In August 2026 I named him as one of three individuals in a formal legal notice. That notice is my account and my demands, not a finding.

Shown versus not shown: what Rahmat Fabhian Aminuddin's public profile shows and what I cannot say

What the record shows

  • The profile card shows a name, a location and two affiliations. It says nothing about me or about any allegation.
  • My 2023 email shows that I suspected him at the time, in my own words. It does not show that the suspicion was correct.
  • The legal notice shows what I formally demanded. It does not show that a court or regulator agreed.

What I cannot say

  • That he harassed me or anyone else. I show no message, report or finding here.
  • That there was any fraud in an undergraduate thesis. I hold no document, and I know of no finding by his university.
  • That he had any role in my dismissal, or in the thread that went viral.
  • That a suspicion I wrote in 2023 was right.

Where I am probably wrong

In 2023 I was under heavy stress and in poor health, and I connected a viral thread to a person because that was the story that made sense to me. A suspicion written in an email is still a suspicion. If he can show that any statement here is wrong, I will correct it.
