Legal Notice No. 006/SOMASI/RW/IV/2026: Rifqi Naufal Abdjul (English Edition)

This post summarises Somasi No. 006/SOMASI/RW/IV/2026, a formal legal notice I sent in April 2026 to Mr. Rifqi Naufal Abdjul, who posts on X (Twitter) as @rifqinau. The letter was issued in Indonesian, with an English edition. It is a legal notice, not a police report, court filing or finding. He has not responded here, and I do not assert that he is guilty of any offence.
What the letter is about
The letter concerns posts made in October 2023, when I was being mocked online after my dismissal from AWS. What makes it personal is that the author is my junior from both high school and university.
- A tweet of 14 October 2023. In my English rendering: "Imagine if in the end he says 'Sorry guys, I was just joking all along. I was just here to make you all more solid/united.'" The post shows 3,542 views, 23 likes and 1 repost. I read it as framing my dismissal and my suffering as a deliberate joke, which discourages sympathy and implies that my crisis was staged (Evidence E-1).
- A reply thread on 19 October 2023. He wrote to another account, "Waiting for the gossip, bro @velcrossze," and then added "That's the one-sided-love content, bro." The first post shows 768 views. I read "waiting for the gossip" as treating the next round of attacks on me as entertainment to be consumed (Evidence E-2).
- A repost of a third-party tweet (September/October 2023). The letter says he reposted an @sicupuh tweet claiming I was fired from AWS for "leaking internal data and misrepresentation." I dispute that claim as untrue. No screenshot of this repost is annexed to the letter.

Harm I described
Public mockery framed as entertainment while I was in a genuine crisis, and a false suggestion that my suffering was fabricated. I also described losing contact with my high school friends, extensive reputational damage and significant psychological distress, with the added weight that the author was someone from my own school and campus community.
Legal basis I relied on
I wrote the letter myself, without a lawyer. It cites Art. 27A with Art. 45(4) of the ITE Law (Law No. 1 of 2024), which carries up to 2 years' imprisonment and/or a fine of up to IDR 400 million. It cites Art. 27A with Art. 45(6) for the "just joking" framing and the repost of the "leaking internal data" claim, which carries up to 4 years and/or IDR 750 million if the allegation cannot be proven. It also cites Civil Code Art. 1365 on compensation for unlawful acts.
What I demanded
Within seven calendar days, I asked him to remove the two tweets and the repost, publish a public apology from his own account, stop further acts harming my reputation, and pay immaterial damages of at least IDR 900,000,000. The letter also offered an in-person meeting at The Breeze, BSD City, at 7:00 PM WIB within the deadline. If he did not comply, I said I would consider a criminal complaint, a civil claim and publication of the notice and evidence. This post is part of that publication.
Limits of this record
- This is my account and my legal reading; no authority has made a finding.
- The posts date from 2023. The two annexed screenshots show the 14 and 19 October tweets only. The repost of the @sicupuh tweet is described in the letter but not evidenced in the annex.
- A reader could see the tweets as sarcastic commentary on a public controversy rather than an attack, and whether they meet the legal elements is for the authorities and a court.
- The 4-year penalty tier depends on a statement being a false accusation. The letter's position that it is false is mine and is untested.
- The English edition carries reference No. 006/SOMASI/RW/IV/2026 dated 21 April 2026, and so does the covering email. The Indonesian letter shows No. 033/SOMASI/RW/IV/2026 with the header date 29 April 2026, while its signature block says 21 April 2026. I have used the English edition's reference here.
- The circumstances of my dismissal from AWS are my own account and are not decided by this post.
- I am not a lawyer, and this post is not legal advice.
